To Heck with CrossFit and the Lot of Them!
CrossFit CEO lands in hot water after insensitive, or at least confused statement about Covid-19 and BLM. Read about it here.
To heck with CrossFit and all branded exercises, actually. Body Pump, Pilates. . . movement belongs to everyone. No, CEOs of those other brands didn’t say stupid confusing things. It’s just that these “brands” can be obstacles to getting fit.
Like in Branded Yoga, a Scandal will Happen Eventually
I’ve already written how yoga is a brand with dubious origins, but did not to mention the brands of the yoga such as Iyengar, Bikram, and Anusara. When someone is cashing in, someone is losing out, and that someone is you. Trainers have to pay money to get special certificates in such-and-such branded exercises, and pass the cost to you. Funny how two of the three brands I mentioned mostly died from abuse scandals. Yoga Dork has covered those here and here. But I digress. I’m skeptical of gurus and you should be too. We’re anarchists here.
There is a joke with many variations that goes, “Q: How do you tell when someone does CrossFit? A: They will Effing tell you.” Look, if doing a branded exercise motivates you to get out and move, then more power to you. How about just move because you will healthier, happier, and live longer? Let’s talk. Book a 15 minute FREE Discovery Consult, and we can talk about that.
If you are looking for a Trainer or (Health Coach) that will make you Instagram material or perform amazing feats or strength and endurance, there is plenty of that out there, but you won’t find it here.
