I was starting my fitness career at the Y nearby. It’s a small one, but not far from the biggest in the county, perhaps the country. I’m not a trainer yet, but a “Wellness Coach.” They have since gotten actual Health and Wellness Coaches, so they changed the name of the job to “Fitness Coach.” This is not to be confused with a “Personal Trainer.”
I really like the mission and community-oriented vibe. They’re not going to try to make me sell useless supplements. (BTW, the only supplements science has shown to enhance performance are caffeine and creatine, so save your money).
But thanks to the stupid virus, we’re closed until at least July 1 (Update: they didn’t open for like a year). It was fun, though. And don’t you dare sing that stupid song at me.
At least I was there long enough to complete my externship and get my first testimonial.
